Every year millions of Iranians hold ceremonies to celebrate the birth of the 12th and last Imam, Imam Mahdi. (peace be upon him) They decorate and light up the streets and mosques in the honour of this special day.
“Imam Mahdi is the prophesied redeemer, who will receive peace, administer justice and rid the world of evil.”
This past Wednesday I had the great honour of going around the city of Tehran and taking in all the beautiful decorations and lights. I even got to attend one of the ceremonies. Truly, a beautiful experience.
